MFW SS17 Diary

Hello my dear Friends! Finally here it goes a little MFW SS17 recap!

After my first NYFW, I took some days to chill in Malta before to head again to the stressful fashionista life of the Fashion Weeks.

I was quite excited to assist to the Milan Fashion Week, not only because of the quality of its shows (Ermanno Scervino, Dsquared2, RoccoBarocco, etc.) but also because I will be interviewed by the one and only Camera della Moda Italiana (the organiser of MFW) directly from their Fashion Hub/Office in Milan.

You can actually watch my Q&A below:

I booked my flight for the 22 and will stay in Milan until the 26 September (basically until the last day of MFW).

However, at the airport, the check-in officer told me I booked my flight for…the wrong month! Yep! For October instead of September! Well done Melanie, nailed it!

I had several shows this day and tried to find a solution to get to Milan in couple of hours, however all the flights were just ridiculously super expensive! The only solution that will not break my wallet was flighting next day to Venice and take a train to Milan.

In sum, I will have to wake up very early + take a 3 hours train (FYI, trains in Italia are horribles!!) to finally arrive at 1 PM in Milano.

Diogo was speechless.

Once arrived in Milano the 23, I was literally exhausted! “Let’s have a 2hours nap” I thought to myself. Well, this 2hours nap got extended to a 5 hours big nap missing some presentations and events.

But, let’s be honest: if you are tired or exhausted what is the point to go to an Event? You won’t be at your top performance causing a negative impact on your image.

Next day, the 24th, I was however fresh like a rose to go to the Ermanno Scervino show and my interview with Camera Della Moda.

The 25th was my busiest day: at 10 AM , I was heading to the Alberto Zambelli show, following to the RoccoBarroco front-row only show, to the Carlos Gil one (I was actually one of his runway model when I was 17 and yes he is a Portuguese designer). At 8 PM I headed to the Dsquared2 show who was actually incredible!

The last day of MFW, I attended the Mila Schön, followed by San Andres Milano, and Piccione.Piccione .

The 26th at 3:30PM I was running late to take my plane back to Malta for a few days before PFW. Indeed, Paris Fashion Week along with NYFW are both 10 days instead of 7!

I’m very excited to have seen some of my favourite fashion Icons such as models Sara Sampaio, Taylor Hill, Anna Della Russo, etc.

Look forward to the next MFW in February, and for now see you soon in Paris!
